Individuals
Nick has a background deeply grounded in service and real-world experience. Over the past 15 years, he has dedicated his career to supporting military members, first responders, and uniformed personnel, giving him a firsthand understanding of the operational stress, unique demands, and distinct culture associated with these professions.
He works with adults seeking to manage chronic stress, navigate lifestyle changes, and build resilience. Most of his clients are dedicated, hard-working individuals who are motivated to grow but feel stuck, not from a lack of effort, but because they need a supportive, culturally informed environment to unpack life's challenges and restore their overall well-being.
Nicks’s Approach.
Nick specializes in helping military personnel, first responders, and individuals navigating anxiety, performance anxiety, social anxiety, self-worth, PTSD and identity shifts.
Drawing on trauma-informed integrative frameworks, Adlerian therapy, and person-centered approaches, Nick frequently incorporates physical activity and lifestyle management into his work, honoring the strong connection between physical health and mental well-being. His background includes serving as a wildland firefighter and supporting the Canadian Armed Forces as a civilian contractor on multiple overseas deployments with both the Navy and Army.
What it’s like to work with Nick.
Sessions with Angelo tend to feel direct, grounded, and collaborative. He balances honesty with care, creating space for clients to engage with difficult material without feeling judged or overwhelmed.
There is a clear sense of direction in the work. You're not left circling the same issues — sessions are purposeful, focused on understanding what's actually driving your patterns and actively working through them. Many of his clients appear capable and composed on the outside and feel like they're barely holding it together on the inside. Therapy with Angelo is designed for exactly that gap.
He also brings a quiet sense of humour into the work, which can make even the hardest conversations feel more manageable.
Personal Note
I am a Filipino-Canadian psychologist with a lived understanding of the pressures that come with navigating between cultures, family expectation, and identity in a Canadian context. For clients from similar backgrounds, that shared understanding removes a layer of explanation that can otherwise slow the work considerably. Outside the office, I prioritize my physical and mental health through regular training, basketball, and tennis. I believe strongly that physical and psychological wellbeing are deeply connected, something that shows up in how I approach the work with my clients.
