Individual Therapy

Support for anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship dynamics, and addictions.

Work one-on-one with a therapist to better understand what you’re experiencing and move forward with clarity.

Why attend therapy?

Individual therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and make sense of what you’re carrying.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply wanting something to shift, therapy can help you better understand yourself and respond to life in a more intentional way.

At Carbon, we do provide therapy for children and teenagers.

How Therapy Works.

Therapy is collaborative and tailored to you.
Your therapist will work with you to understand what’s happening, identify patterns, and support you in developing new ways of relating to yourself and your life.

Our work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, while also recognizing that no two people are the same.

FAQ

  • Do I need therapy if nothing is “seriously wrong”?

No. Many people come to therapy because something feels off, stuck, or unclear — not because there’s a crisis. Therapy can help you understand patterns, make decisions, and feel more grounded.

  • What do you actually talk about in individual therapy?

Sessions usually focus on what’s happening in your life right now — including thoughts, behaviours, relationships, and decisions. Over time, patterns become clearer and we work through them in a practical way.

  • What if I don’t know what I want to work on?

That’s completely fine. A lot of people start therapy with a general sense that something isn’t working. Part of the process is figuring that out together.

  • How do I choose the right therapist?

Fit matters. It’s important to feel comfortable, understood, and able to be honest. A consultation can help you get a sense of whether working together feels right.

  • How often should I come to therapy?

Most people start with weekly or bi-weekly sessions, then adjust over time depending on their needs and goals. This can be discussed and adapted as you go.

  • How long does individual therapy usually last?

There’s no fixed timeline. Some people come for a few months, others longer-term. It depends on what you’re working through and how much change you’re looking for.
