Masha works with teens and young adults in Calgary navigating grief, identity questions, life transitions, and cultural adjustment. Many of her clients are early in their adult lives — adjusting to new environments, new relationships, or the weight of figuring out who they are and what they want.
She is often a strong fit for clients who feel uncertain, emotionally overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves, and who want a gentle, reflective space to slow down and make sense of what they're going through. She is also a good fit for clients new to therapy, or for those who want a calmer, more pace-conscious entry point into the work.
Masha is fluent in English and Russian, and is one of the few therapists in Calgary offering full counselling services in Russian. For many clients, working in their first language allows them to express themselves more honestly and feel understood without needing to translate cultural context.
Masha’s Approach.
Masha's work is grounded in attachment-based and somatic perspectives, with a focus on understanding how experiences are held both emotionally and in the body. She draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and cognitive behavioural techniques to support awareness, coping, and psychological flexibility.
She has also trained in Polyvagal Theory and Gestalt Therapy, both of which inform how she works with the nervous system and present-moment experience. Her training in Grief Therapy allows her to support clients moving through loss, including the kinds of grief that often go unnamed — cultural displacement, identity loss, or the end of a chapter that mattered.
Having lived in the UAE, Russia, and Kazakhstan, Masha brings firsthand understanding of cultural transitions and the experience of building identity across different environments.
What it’s like to work with Masha.
Sessions with Masha tend to feel calm, reflective, and steady. She creates space for clients to move at their own pace, helping them slow down and connect more clearly with what they're feeling — both emotionally and physically.
Her style is warm, attentive, and culturally aware. She moves carefully and builds trust over time. Clients often describe feeling more grounded, more aware of their internal experience, and better able to navigate change with a sense of stability they didn't have before.
