Joe works with adults and couples in Calgary and across Western Canada who are trying to make sense of themselves at a deeper level. Many of his clients are navigating questions of identity, purpose, self-worth, and how they relate to others. They feel disconnected from who they are, stuck in patterns shaped by past experiences, or carrying shame that's hard to name, let alone shift.

With couples, Joe works extensively with infidelity, betrayal, attachment patterns, and communication breakdowns. He also supports individuals navigating performance pressure, burnout, and questions of purpose and direction.

He's a particularly strong fit for men and high-performers who want more than surface-level coping, and who are ready to look honestly at what's driving their behaviour, relationships, and sense of self.

Joe’s Approach.

Joe's work is rooted in understanding how your experiences have shaped the way you see yourself, others, and the world around you. Through a narrative and attachment-based lens, he helps clients explore the stories they've internalized about themselves, particularly around shame, self-worth, and identity, and how those stories continue to influence their relationships and decisions.

His work also goes beyond intellectual insight. Joe integrates EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic and breath-based approaches to support processing on emotional and physical levels. This is what allows clients to move past insight alone, and begin to shift long-standing patterns in a more lasting way.

He balances depth with a practical, action-oriented mindset. Clients leave sessions with both a clearer understanding of themselves and a sense of what to do next.

What it’s like to work with Joe.

Sessions with Joe tend to feel real, direct, and grounded. He brings a calm, steady presence, balanced with a dry sense of humour that can take some of the weight out of difficult conversations.

There’s a depth to the work, but it’s not abstract or detached, Joe keeps things anchored in real life. He’ll help you look at what’s actually happening, and what needs to change, without overcomplicating it. Clients often leave sessions with both a clearer understanding of themselves and a sense of what to do next.

People love Joe for his relaxed, honest, and authentic approach to therapy. He is as real with clients in the therapy room as he is in his personal life.

Personal Note

Outside of work, I love to travel and make life one big adventure.

I'm an existentialist by nature, just as interested in big questions about the universe as I am about making meaning in everyday life. Hanging with me often ends on chats about space, consciousness, and just how insignificant we are on this planet.

My best mate is Gary, who (by all accounts) runs my place and is the coolest cat on the planet.
