Jacqueline Gowans, Canadian Certified Counsellor

Jacqueline is a compassionate and experienced therapist who brings a deeply integrative, human-centred approach to healing and personal growth. With a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and over two decades of experience across mental health, coaching, wellness, and education, Jacqueline supports clients in reconnecting with themselves, building resilience, and creating meaningful change.

Jacqueline has worked extensively with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, addiction, life transitions, burnout, and recovery. Her professional background includes roles as a school therapist, addiction therapist, recovery coach, and counsellor supporting survivors of sexual trauma, as well as years of experience working with first responders, veterans, and high-performing professionals. She has also led mental health education and resiliency training for organizations and community groups.

Jacqueline believes therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and empowering. Her goal is to help clients develop tools they can carry into everyday life—supporting not just symptom relief, but long-term wellbeing, clarity, and self-trust.

Jacqueline is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist and integrates mindfulness techniques, and nervous-system regulation into her work when appropriate, helping clients move beyond insight alone and into embodied healing. Jacqueline’s work is grounded in evidence-based practices including Emotional Intelligence exploration and assessment (EQ-i 2.0), mindfulness-based approaches, cognitive behavioural Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care.

In addition to her CCC designation, Jacqueline is a Professional Certified Coach (ICF-PCC), certified yoga instructor, meditation coach, and former collegiate athlete. She brings a strengths-based, practical, and supportive style to her sessions—meeting clients where they are, while gently encouraging growth, self-compassion, and accountability.
